Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives behind the scenes - keeping systems running smoothly, coordinating logistics, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. Reporting to the Head of Major Events, you will provide essential support that enables the team to leverage off hosting world-class events for the city.
With a packed 2026 calendar featuring major events like Electric Avenue, Supercars, and Super Round, your role will be key to ensuring our internal processes are seamless and our stakeholders are kept informed. From supporting with communications and databases to coordinating meetings and preparing materials, you will be the steady hand that helps the major events team bring events to life.


The role involves:

  • Providing admin support for the Major Events team
  • Helping to organise tickets and hosting for major events
  • Supporting city activation projects – bringing events to life across the city
  • Preparing materials for presentations and communications
  • Managing the Major Events CRM and assisting with EDM’s when required
  • Helping to maintain risk registers
  • Coordinating meetings: scheduling, agenda preparation and minute taking

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Minimum of 2 year’s experience in a similar role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An ability to organise and prioritise
  • An understanding or passion for the events industry would be an advantage
  • The ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office 365
  • Experience with CRM database management
  • Experience with minute taking and meeting coordination
  • A passion for the future of Christchurch and our ambition for this place
